Labels printed to a Zebra barcode printer in quantities greater than 10 print erratically (skipped, info missing, or extra label).

IMPORTANT: If problem only occurs with certain items regardless of quantity, remove any special characters from those items such as a quote character (") and try printing again.

Erratic skipping of labels or content is a known problem with some Zebra printers when EPL label output is directed through the Generic Text-only driver. Zebra suggests using the Zebra Universal Driverinstead. You may also need to upgrade the printer's firmware.

To install and configure the Zebra Universal Driver for Zebra LP2824 Label Printer so that it can be used in Microsoft Dynamics RMS Store Operations, follow these steps:

  1. Download the Zebra Universal Driver v5.5.7.25 from the following Zebra Web site:
    http://zebra.com/id/zebra/na/en/index/drivers_downloads/drivers.html
  2. Double-click the ZUD55725.exe file.
  3. Extract the contents of the file.
  4. Double-click Setup.exe file.
  5. On the Printer Driver Setup Wizard window, select the following:
    Manufacturers: Zebra EPL
    Printers: Zebra TLP2824
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click Add a new printer.
  8. Select the port where the printer is connected.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Type a Name for the label printer. Example: Labels or Labels2
  11. Accept all the default settings on the succeeding configuration windows.
  12. Do not click Print Test Page.
  13. Click Finish to complete the driver installation.

Note: This problem does not occur with Cognitive barcode printers. If you get tired of misprinted labels, sell your Zebra printer and labels (2.25"x1.25") on eBay and pickup a Cognitive Advantage printer (parallel port or USB model suggested) and Cognitive labels (2.3"x1").
