Hobby Bundle - Current Edition and Upgrade

This add-in suite is for US/CA hobby dealers who purchase from Horizon Hobby. There are separate installers for the Hobby Bundle, V.I.P. Zone and Service Manager.

Current Hobby Bundle users: If you are currently running an older version of Hobby Bundle, you should UNINSTALL the prior versions before upgrading. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, and uninstall any RMS Toolkit or Hobby Bundle entries listed (not anything else). Then proceed with the installation below. Repeat on all workstations where Hobby Bundle is installed.

RMS 2.0 upgraders: If you are upgrading to RMS 2.0 at the same time, you will need to run AutoGen on your RMS server after upgrading to Hobby Bundle. Click Generate to update the triggers for 2.0 compliance.

INSTALLATION NOTES
--------------------------------
v1.x Users upgrading to RMS v2.0 at the same time: You should install the Hobby Bundle AFTER upgrading to RMS 2.0 with the latest hot fix and service packs. Do not install RMS 2.0 from the CD alone as over 100 issues have been addressed in hot fixes since the initial release. Installing v2.0 also requires a list of issues to consider before installing this upgrade. Please see our RMS 1.x to 2.0 instructions elsewhere on this knowledge base.

Setup and installation assistance for Hobby Bundle is available at no charge. You can either follow the self-install instructions below or contact our support team if you'd like us to install the upgrade for you.

The Hobby Bundle can be installed on Store Operations or HeadQuarters version 2.0.0110 or higher. The current release of RMS is v2.0.2022. To view the release version you are running, see Manager, Help, About.

RMS v1.2/1.3/2.0 Users: Microsoft has discontinued support for all versions. DRS add-ins may run with older versions of RMS, but support is only available from DRS and associate partners who also support our add-ins.

Current RMS Toolkit and Hobby Bundle users: This update may clear the current database password on file and prompt you to re-enter it when running an application the first time. This is the same password as listed in Administrator, File, Configuration, Database tab. Make sure you know this password and the database name before proceeding.

If you have not done so already, download and unzip the installer to a shared drive on your network. This will expedite installation on multiple PCs. Once you download the file you will need to run the setup EXE within the zip file.

INSTRUCTIONS
----------------------
HQ Users: Install Hobby Bundle at each store location first, then at HQ (over several days if necessary). No update is needed for HQ Bridge.

All Users: Prior to installing the Bundle at each workstation, run Store Operations Administrator, File, Configuration. Verify the entries under the Register, Paths, and Templates tabs. The ONLY paths that should be pointing to the server are Crystal Reports, Labels, Reports, and Pictures. All other entries should be pointing to the local drive. Example: C: \Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\etc. NOTE: Pointing to the server is optional but recommended if you want your memorized and custom reports shared between all stations.

Step 1 -- Run the installer, enter the password when prompted, and SELECT THE APPROPRIATE COMPONENTS as indicated by the onscreen instructions and intended usage for the workstation. Do not blindly accept the default checkboxes or you will miss installing important components. Do not check all components as no workstation would get all components unless your RMS server is also a register station. See the right-hand column next to each checkbox. If you are unsure which components to select, contact DRS Support at www.DRShelp.com or click the Help button in lower left to view descriptions.

Step 2 -- Repeat the installation on each PC at all store locations where Hobby Bundle is currently installed, or where Hobby Bundle is being added.

Step 3 -- RMS 2.0 upgraders will need to run AutoGen on their RMS server and click Generate to update triggers for 2.0 compliance. Failure to do so will result in "Ambiguous column name" error in RMS. If you are already running RMS 2.0, you can skip this step.

Step 4 -- Install DRS Service Manager if you provide services or repair work for your customers. You should also install V.I.P. Zone. Both apps are included with Hobby Bundle.

Visit www.DRShelp.com if you need any assistance with your installation and engage a support rep by starting a conversation. Charges may apply.
