V.I.P. Zone won't connect to db even with alias defined for named server

Make sure SQL Browser is enabled in SQL Server Configuration and set to automatic.

If configuration manager 2008 R2 is not listed enter this in Run box: C:\Windows\SysWOW64\SQLServerManager10.msc
Or locate similar app in that folder.
