Run Time Error 2147217900 (800e14) During Offline DB Sync - SQNCL1

First try the PC name (not local) for Offline tab plus IP address for server under General tab.

Secondly, go to Windows Firewall on db server and allow access for port 1433. Also try IP address for server for workstation. If that doesn't solve it, then follow the next steps or try adding aliases to workstation (IP address and named server).

Make sure the logged in user has registry access to the RMS keys.

Note For proper synchronization to occur, the Windows user should be one of the following:

  • An administrator user
  • A nonadministrator user who has full control permission on the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\StoreOperations

Specifically, the nonadministrator user should have full controlpermission on the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\StoreOperations\POSUser

This situation will allow nonadministrator users to synchronize backfrom RMS Terminal Offline Mode.

To allow RMS Terminal Offline Mode to function correctly when you runPOS from a nonadministrator Windows user account, follow these steps:

1. While you are logged on to Windows under an administrator account, open the registry editor. To do this, click Start, click Run, typeREGEDIT, and then click OK.

2. Locate and then right-click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Retail Management System\StoreOperations\POSUser

3. Click Permissions, and then click Advanced.

4. Locate or create the permissions entry or entries that apply to thenonadministrator account or accounts that will run POS in offlinemode, click the entry, and then click Edit.

5. Under the Allow column for this user, click to select the FullControl checkbox.
